School & Group Programs
Westcoast Adventure and Westcoast Surf School have been providing quality outdoor education programs to schools and other groups since 1993, and currently service over one hundred and fifty primary and secondary schools, tertiary, corporate groups and clubs. Our programs are ideal for school camps, VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies, Advance programs and VET courses. The equipment we use is the latest and safest available and our instructors are fully qualified and experienced in their respective fields. (Please call for prices)Surfing
Classes are run at Anglesea main beach, Urquart Bluff, Torquay or Ocean Grove beaches. We are mobile and can travel to other beaches in the area on request (subject to availability).
Multi day programs and camps can be designed on request.
We provide full length wetsuits and specially designed 'G-Board' softboards in four different sizes to cater for different ages and abilities. Our instructors will be in the water teaching the students how to surf, not just watching them from the beach! We are constantly upgrading and expanding our equipment, and can cater for groups of up to ninety people surfing with everyone on softboards, plus another forty on bodyboards.
Bodyboarding
Torquay, Anglesea or Ocean Grove. A very safe and fun activity with success guaranteed for everyone. A great lead in activity for surfing, or as a stand alone surf activity for the younger or less experienced students.
Sit on top kayaking - River or Surf
Torquay, Anglesea or Barwon Heads. Heaps of fun and easy enough for all participants to experience success in their first session. We use Malibu 2 person self-draining plastic kayaks which are extremely safe and easy to use. Helmets and buoyancy vests provided, plus wetsuits for surf kayaking. We can cater for groups of up to 24 on the water at a time.
Surf Rescue Certificate and Surf Education Programs
We can run these programs for you at very competitive prices. We will work out an individual quote for you dependent on class size, length of time available to you and which course you prefer for your students. Our instructors are highly qualified SLSA Bronze Medallion instructors and examiners.
Surf Carnival
A fantastic activity for a surf camp. Everyone participates with the main emphasis on having FUN. Activities include beach flags, paddling, swimming and running races, iron person events, chariot races and more.
Snorkelling
A fantastic activity for the warmer months (term 1 is the most popular). We dive at one of several sites in the Bay or along the Surfcoast and Bellarine Peninsula. These shore dives abound with marine life and are ideal for both beginners and those with some experience. Wetsuits, hoods, masks, snorkels and fins are provided.
Rockclimbing/Abseiling
An ideal activity for VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies Units 1&2 or as part of a VYDP program. We operate at a range of climbing sites in the You Yangs, Staughtonvale, Werribee Gorge and the Grampians.
All climbing gear & at least two instructors will be provided, depending on group size. Multi day trips to the Grampians or Mt. Arapiles are also available.
Indoor Rockclimbing
A great activity to do during a camp or as a lead-in to outdoor climbing. Located at the Anglesea Recreation Camp. All equipment and qualified instructors provided.
Canoeing
Our canoeing sessions are run on the Anglesea River, a unique system of canals and bridges winding through the native bush right next to the Anglesea township. This area is ideal for environmental studies as well as learning paddling skills, not to mention developing personal and group skills, co-operation and teamwork!
High or Low Ropes Course / Initiative Activities
Located in and around Anglesea, we use a range of different courses according to the needs of the group. A series of challenges and fun activities ideal for developing self esteem, trust, communication, teamwork and initiative, as well as being great fun!
Raft Building Initiative
Raft building is a great activity for developing communication, teamwork and initiative, as well as being great fun! Conducted on the Barwon River at Barwon Heads, Torquay front beach or on the Anglesea River at Anglesea.
