Welcome to Westcoast Adventure & Westcoast Surf School
About Us
Westcoast Adventure and Westcoast Surf School are based in Torquay on Victoria’s Surfcoast. Operating since 1993, we have introduced many thousands of people to the exciting recreational activities of surfing, snorkelling, surf kayaking, canoeing, rockclimbing and abseiling.
Westcoast Surf School operates at Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove, providing fully qualified, experienced and friendly instructors and the latest and safest equipment, including full length wetsuits and specially designed beginners softboards.
Our services range from one-on-one private coaching (beginner to advanced), to catering for large groups of up to ninety people. In addition to the hundreds of holiday makers who come to us to learn to surf at Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove, our services are currently being utilised on a regular basis by over one hundred and fifty schools, universities, businesses and other organisations.
Programs
Westcoast Adventure runs programs for corporate groups, youth groups, schools, tertiary institutions and the general public. Activities include surfing, sit on top kayaking, canoeing, snorkelling, high and low ropes courses, team building and initiative programs, rockclimbing and abseiling, marine and bush environmental education programs.
Activities can vary from a one hour private surf lesson to a multi-day residential corporate training program. We cater for all ages and requirements, including groups with special needs. All programs are specifically tailored to the client’s requirements to best achieve your aims.
We are a mobile operation, able to run programs at a wide range of venues throughout Victoria. We handle all facets of program organisation including the provision of specialist equipment, qualified instructors and facilitators, first aid, insurance, permits, etc. A range of accommodation and conference centres can also be recommended if required.
Accreditation
We have been fully accredited members of the Better Business Tourism Accreditation Program since 1993. This program recognises a commitment to quality by its members through the demonstration of high standards of ethical conduct and quality operational practices. We are also members of Surfcoast Tourism, Geelong Otway Tourism, Victorian Outdoor Education Association, and the Australian Climbing Instructors Association.
Insurance/Permits
Westcoast Adventure holds a ten million dollar public liability insurance policy. We hold all necessary permits and licenses to operate on public land, including the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and local Foreshore Committees of Management.
Our Staff
Westcoast Adventure’s staff are motivated, confident, outgoing and very friendly. They have a genuine love of the outdoors and are passionate about preserving the outdoors for future generations. They are experienced and qualified in their area of expertise and enjoy sharing their experiences with others. They place the client’s safety and comfort above their own and make every effort to ensure customer satisfaction. They act professionally at all times and treat clients with respect.
